Prior to joining Cohen Lans, Mr. Roy was a partner with Marshall, Bratter, Greene, Allison & Tucker and was General Counsel to Bayer Clothing Group, an international apparel company. Most recently, he was in private practice in Westchester County.
He is a graduate of Queens College of the City University of New York (B.A., 1965) and George Washington University Law School (J.D. with honors, 1968) where he was an editor of the George Washington Law Review and a member of the Order of the Coif. Mr. Roy served as a Lieutenant and Trial and Defense Counsel and Military Judge in the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps.
Mr. Roy is a member of the New York City, New York State (Section on Family Law; Committee on Legislation); and American (Family Law Section) Bar Associations; New York County Lawyers’ Association (Matrimonial Law Section) and the Westchester County Bar Association. He is a Fellow of the American and International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers
and presently serves on the Board of Managers of
the New York Chapter. Mr. Roy has lectured on various topics in his areas of expertise.
